Acumentia Discuss Shaping the Future of Nutraceuticals

A recent pharmaceutical and nutraceutical trade show with  conference (Making Nutraceuticals - 21st-22nd April 2026 Coventry Building Society Arena) brought together a dynamic panel of speakers from Acumentia to explore the evolving landscape of health, wellness, and supplementation with delegates. The session featured industry leaders and product innovators from the consultancy group, each offering their unique insights into current trends and future opportunities.

A key theme throughout the discussion was the growing demand for evidence-based formulations. Our panelists (Lindsey Bagley, Nick Henson, Karen Pardoe, Craig Duckham and John Points) emphasized the importance of solid product development noting that today’s consumers are more informed and discerning than ever about the formulations they are presented with. Exceptional understanding of analysis also took centre stage, with speakers highlighting advances in data-driven approaches that tailor supplements to individual needs.

The conversation also touched on regulatory challenges and the need for global harmonization to ensure product safety and quality across markets. Health and Nutrition claims sparked a number of questions from the audience; which is probably the defining area that separates nutraceutical development from conventional product development.

Despite these hurdles, the panelists expressed optimism about innovation in delivery systems, such as functional beverages and novel formats. As evidenced at the show, the industry activity in functional ingredient development is very strong.

Overall, the session provided delegates with valuable perspectives on how the nutraceutical industry is adapting to shifting consumer expectations while continuing to push the boundaries of science and health.
